Since 1914, Peoples Bank of Wyaconda has been serving the loyal customers of this community. It continues to be locally owned and operated. It is proud to serve Northeast Missouri from Wyaconda, Kahoka and Canton. The employees at local branches assist the customers with all the banking and financial needs.
In 1988, a group of local businessmen formed Texas Peoples National Bancshares, Inc. (“TPNB”). In December of 1988, TPNB acquired the assets and assumed the liabilities of the failed First National Bank – Bogata from the FDIC. The assets and liabilities were acquired into a new wholly owned subsidiary of TPNB known as Peoples National Bank. PNB began to experience rapid growth as a result of a local board of directors with a commitment to serving the local community.

Peoples Bank is a locally owned, full service community bank that serves Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota. With offices in Rock Valley, Lester, Sioux Center, Akron, Sheldon, Hawarden, Hinton, Sioux City, IA, and Jasper, MN, it is equipped to serve the customers in their very own community. Peoples Bank was formed in 2000. Although it is a young bank, the story begins much earlier than that. Most of our employees started working together in the early ‘80s, for what was then Grant County Bank. The name on the building changed several times, but for the most part, the people inside stayed the same. Today Peoples Bank is going strong, never forgetting the principles of friendly attitudes and personalized service it was founded on.
Peoplesbank was established in 1907 as the Bank of Red Fork. A new vision for the future of Peoplesbank began to emerge when David K. Johnson purchased the bank in 2003. Along with a new look came new services and a modern approach to banking while remaining rooted in its long history of personalized, local service.
The Bank of Commerce and Peoples Bank have merged under one name: Carson Community Bank. While the name and logo have been updated, it remains locally-owned bank committed to building a better community through the bank branches and philanthropic efforts. Its mission is to elevate individuals, businesses, and communities by providing financial solutions through personal relationships.

Effective January 1, 2020, Peoples Community Bank was merged with and into Citizens and Farmers Bank. C&F Financial Corporation owns all of the stock of Citizens and Farmers Bank (C&F Bank), which is an independent commercial bank chartered under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. C&F Bank operates 30 retail bank branches and three commercial loan offices in Virginia, located between Hampton Roads and Charlottesville and in the Northern Neck region.
