Materialman's lien

A materialman's lien, also known as a mechanics lien, is a legal claim or encumbrance placed on a property by a person or company that has provided materials or labor for construction, improvement, or repairs to the property. It serves as security for the payment of outstanding debts or obligations owed to the material supplier or contractor and provides them with the right to seek compensation by foreclosing on the property if the debt remains unpaid.
