In October 1936, Coleman County State Bank received approval from the Texas Banking Department to begin its operations. In January 1985, a group of local businessmen and women acquired Coleman Bank, proudly returning it to local ownership. Records show that the bank had just over $43,000,000 in assets at the time. Official approval from the State Department of Banking was received on January 16, 1985; and the bank was then reverted to its 1936 name, Coleman County State Bank.
